The Fraser Lecture is an annual public lecture hosted by the federal member for Fraser, Andrew Leigh MP, to facilitate public discussion and debate on matters of national significance.
The Fraser Lecture invites high-profile Australians to deliver a 30 minute lecture, followed by questions and answers. Former presenters have included Tim Costello, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Sharan Burrow and Anne Summers.
In 2015 lecture will be delivered by Mark Dreyfus QC MP and will frame the ALP approach to arts policy.
Mark was elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for Isaacs in November 2007. Previously a Melbourne barrister, Mark was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1999.
Mark's maiden speech to Parliament reflected on his experience working for and with Indigenous Australians and his passion for the environment. He spoke of his concern about the planning of our urban environments and the critical importance of the quality of policy, laws, and administration in each of these areas.
