TOWNSVILLE COMMUNITY FORUM

Last night, Townsville locals gathered at CQ University to share their experiences with and concerns about the big banks.

These stories, along with the revelations of dodgy behaviour in the banking sector, prove how important the banking royal commission is.

From charging dead people for financial advice to dodgy dealings around children’s bank accounts, these concerning experiences show how wrong the Liberals and Nationals were to block the royal commission for so long, and why the big banks don’t deserve a $17 billion tax cut.

Unlike Malcolm Turnbull, Labor is focussed on making life better for all Australians.

We have a plan to give a more generous income tax cut to 10 million people across the country, a plan which will leave those people up to $400 a year better off.

Labor will continue to lead the way with policies to properly fund our schools and hospitals; deliver a bigger, better and fairer tax cut; and pay down debt faster than the Coalition.
