HOPELESS HOCKEY BLANK ON BUDGET AGAIN
Joe Hockey has given a fresh display of his Budget ineptitude today when he would not name a revenue figure for a measure which is apparently in his Budget tomorrow.
Joe Hockey is a man who wants to be seen but has nothing to say, who is only motivated by hanging onto his own job and not by making multinationals pay their fair share.
Following his embarrassing interview with Laurie Oakes on Sunday, the Treasurer is once again woefully unaware of the detail of measures in his own Budget.
Today’s press conference smacks of desperation from a Government which is out of time to come up with a plan to tackle multinational profit shifting, and a Treasurer who needs to show signs of life after being sidelined by Scott Morrison.
Labor has announced a costed, measured multinational tax package which will add $7.2 billion to the budget bottom line over the next decade.
We can put a revenue figure on this package because we understand it, and we have done the hard policy work required to update Australia’s tax settings for the future.
