On the evening of Wednesday 3 December, my friend Nick Champion and I will be debating Coalition MPs Lucy Wicks and Michael McCormack, on the question: 'The Eureka legend belongs to the left or right of politics'.
The debate is part of a one-day ANU conference, being organised by Canberra historian David Headon, for the 160th anniversary of Eureka, at the Research School for Humanities and the Arts.
