School Student Broadband Initiative

The Australian Government is providing up to 30,000 unconnected families with school aged children across all states and territories with a free National Broadband Network (NBN) connection for 12 months.

The initiative will provide 50 megabits per second (Mbps) fixed-line services, Fixed-Wireless Plus and Sky Muster Plus services, depending on where the family lives, with large or unlimited data quotas. The School Student Broadband Initiative will narrow the digital divide and boost education opportunities for students without crucial access to home internet.

In order to be eligible, a family must

  1. Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school in 2023
  2. Have no active NBN service

If your family is eligible for the School Student Broadband Initiative, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office by phone or email, providing  your family contact name, home address and contact information. If emailing please use the subject line "SSBI Application". If you'd like to find out more, information can be accessed here.

we understand that the families that need help might not be able to see this post, if you know any families within your school or broader community that do not have access to internet, please encourage them to apply over the phone or in person.
