The Fenner Lecture is a free annual event to promote engagement with science among young Canberrans.
Professor Emma Johnston is a highly awarded and world leading authority in marine science and conservation, as well as a television presenter.
Her research focuses on global change including marine debris, microplastics, bushfire impacts in marine ecosystems and securing Antarctica’s environmental future. It is research that is conducted in such diverse field environments as Sydney Harbour, Antarctica, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Emma is a compelling presenter, whose Fenner Lecture will focus on the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainability.
By the end of her talk, I'm confident there will be more than one Canberra student with a new passion to pursue a career in marine science.
